This school was recommended by my co-worker back in 2013, who attended training session by Sifu Don. Initially, I was skeptical, due to previous unhappy experience, my son had at another "fighting" school located in the same town. Based on my discussion with Sifu and observations made during the initial visit, we decided to give IMAF school a try. What a huge change, from before. Now 4 years later, and 2 kids in attendance, we, as parents, can't be happier, My son's attitude toward training and learning significantly improved. He became more respectful and more calm and he is capable of defending not only himself, but also his friends. The little 6 years old, can't wait to go to the school and begging to attend classes even during days, which are dedicated to older students. Thank you Sifu Don, Deb, Sifu Anthony, for a wonderful job you have been doing at the school

Great for building incredibly fast hand speed, improving fitness, fantastic instructors. They have classes in Jeet Kun Do (Bruce Lee's art), Doce Pares mutli-system (stick fighting) Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai with elements from other martial arts as well, all integrated to make you any fighter become a whole new animal, and great for learning respect, coordination, and overall improved health and spiritual well being.

This place is absolutely amazing. My boys have been training with Sifu Don and Sifu Debbie since they were 4, now 12 and 14. They have not only learned a discipline in Martial arts but in life. FAQs

Do I need to know jiu-jitsu or Judo to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

No, you don’t. There are beginner classes available and many of the people who study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have no prior martial arts training.

Do I need any special equipment to study Brazilian Martial Arts?

Students typically wear a Gi (two-piece garment worn by martial artists.) It is also typical for some students may want to wear a mouth guard. It’s a good idea to have a supply of athletic tape, as well.

As a beginner, do I need to spar?

No. Beginner classes focus on teaching basic techniques and safety, and you can then work your way up to controlled sparring in class.

Can Brazilian Jiu Jitsu help me defend myself?
